After more than a decade, Japan’s legendary SUPER GT championship is making a roaring return to Malaysia. From June 26 to 28, the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit will play host to Round 3 of the 2025 SUPER GT season – the only race outside Japan and the first since 2019.
To mark the occasion, the SUPER GT Malaysia Festival 2025 will transform Sepang into a three-day celebration of motorsports, car culture, and Japanese entertainment.
🏁 Racing Action: GT500, GT300, GR86 Cup & Vios Challenge
At the heart of the festival is the main event: a 300 km sprint race featuring 34 teams across the GT500 and GT300 classes, known for their stunning machines and fierce on-track battles. Two wildcard Malaysian entries will compete – led by local talents Jazeman Jaafar and Adrian D’Silva.
Adding to the excitement, the festival will debut the GR86 Cup Malaysia, a one-make race series featuring Toyota’s beloved sports coupe. The popular Vios Challenge will also join the action-packed weekend.
🚘 Car Exhibitions & Exclusive Deals
Fans can also explore brand showcases by Toyota and Nissan, both GT500 mainstays. Expect exclusive deals and displays of their latest models – only available during the event.
More than 50 iconic Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) cars will also be on show, alongside official SUPER GT merchandise, car accessories, and stylish automotive apparel.
🇯🇵 Nihon Matsuri: A Japanese Cultural Experience
Beyond the race track, the Nihon Matsuri will offer a full Japanese cultural experience – from traditional food, drinks, and games to stage performances. A highlight is the cosplay contest, where the top 3 daily winners will each receive RM500 in cash prizes.
🎤 GT Live! Concert – June 28 Finale
The festival closes with a bang at the GT Live! Concert on June 28, headlined by KLP48, Malaysia’s own sister group to Japan’s AKB48. Joining them are local and regional stars including Naykilla & Jemsii (of Garam & Madu fame), Kaka Azraff, Fareedpf, Sabhi Saddi, Sara Fajira, and Kaz & Sora.
