- Spy photographers have snapped the first interior pictures of the Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door EV.
- There’s a sport steering wheel and a freestanding curved display, which loosely echoes the concept.
- The car will ride on the AMG.EA platform and could have three axial flux motors producing 1,300+ hp.
Spy photographers have snapped the redesigned Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door on multiple occasions, but they haven’t gotten a look inside. That changes today as we’re getting our first glimpse at the interior of the high-performance EV.
While a number of components are covered by black cloth, we can see a flat-bottom steering wheel that appears to be wrapped in leather and microfiber upholstery. It seems to be sourced from the regular AMG GT and we can even see paddle shifters.

Additional details are hard to make out, but the prototype has a freestanding curved display that echoes the one used on the AMG GT XX concept. Despite the similarities, this one features a slightly different design with rounded edges. That being said, the concept had screens measuring 10.25- and 14-inches.
The road-going model also eschews the concept’s steampunk center console for one that’s far more traditional. It appears to feature a row of silver buttons that reside in front of cup holders or a storage compartment.

Moving outside, the latest prototype gives us a better glimpse at star-infused headlights. They’re joined by a rounded front bumper with a wide lower intake. The model also sports a rakish windscreen, which flows into a steeply sloping roof. Other notable highlights include flush-mounted door handles, aerodynamically optimized wheels, and circular taillights that mimic those found on the concept.
While the production model is big departure from the concept, both ride on the new AMG.EA platform. It uses a mix of aluminum, steel and fiber composite materials to offer lightness and “exceptional rigidity.”
We can also expect a high-tech battery and three axial flux motors. The latter enabled the concept to produce a combined output of more than 1,341 hp (1,000 kW / 1,360 PS).
