The third-generation Audi Q5 and Audi Q5 Sportback have now been launched in Malaysia, Audi distributor PHS Automotive Malaysia (PHSAM) has announced. Unveiled globally in September 2024, the third-generation Q5 goes on sale in Malaysia in two forms – the Q5 Advanced 2.0 TFSI, and the Q5 Sportback S line 2.0 TFSI quattro.
The Q5 Advanced 2.0 TFSI is priced from RM354,223 on-the-road without insurance with the standard two-year, unlimited mileage warranty, or RM371,223 with the Audi assurance five-year warranty and servicing package.
Meanwhile, the Q5 Sportback S line 2.0 TFSI quattro is priced from RM423,223 on-the-road without insurance with the standard two-year, unlimited mileage warranty, or RM440,223 with the Audi assurance five-year warranty and servicing package.
Powertrain in the Q5 Advanced is a 2.0 litre turbocharged petrol engine that outputs 199 PS from 4,300 rpm to 4,000 rpm and 340 Nm from 2,000 rpm to 4,000 rpm, driving the front wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
In the Q5 Sportback S line quattro, the engine of the same capacity makes 272 PS from 5,000 rpm to 6,500 rpm, and 400 Nm from 1,600 rpm to 4,500 rpm which drives all four wheels, also through a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
In terms of chassis, the Q5 Advanced gets the comfort suspension specification, with 19-inch 10-spoke Aero wheels in a two-tone finish shod in 235/55R19 tyres. Meanwhile, the Q5 Sportback S line gets the S line sport suspension specification, with 20-inch double-five-spoke wheels in a two-tone finish, shod in 255/45R20 tyres.
Both the Q5 Advanced and the Q5 Sportback S line get matrix LED headlamps with customisable digital light signatures as well as LED tail lamps. The Q5 Sportback S line additionally gets rear projection brake lights which project a warning signal upon the rear window, to alert other motorists following behind the vehicle.
Inside, the Q5 Advanced offers 520 litres of luggage capacity with the rear seats upright, or up to 1,473 litres with the rear seats folded. Upholstery is a combination of leather and artificial leather, joined by Lime Sediment Natural inlays in silver-grey.
The Q5 Sportback S line meanwhile offers 515 litres of luggage space with the rear seats in places, or up to 1,415 litres with the rear seats folded down. The cabin of the Sportback gets the S line trim pack that includes black headlining, electrically adjustable front sports seats, leather and artificial leather combination upholstery with S embossing along with carbon micro-twill inlays, a flat-top and bottom sport steering wheel, and stainless steel pedals and footrest.
Infotainment for both the Q5 Advanced and the Q5 Sportback S line are comprised of an 11.9-inch digital driver’s instrument display and a 14.5-inch OLED MMI panoramic display, the latter enabling smartphone pairing through wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Both models grant the driver access to the vehicle via the Digital Key feature using their smartphone.
Audi Connect enables the driver to check the status and receive theft alerts, locate, lock and unlock the vehicle via the smartphone. Included on board is the Audi Assistant powered by ChatGPT, which is claimed to understand everyday phrases, deliver real-time information and offer proactive suggestions and personalised routines.
For audio, the Q5 Advanced gets the standard Audi sound system, while the Q5 Sportback S line gets upgraded to a Bang & Olufsen 3D premium sound system. Physical device connectivity includes a wireless device charger with adaptive cooling on both models, and four USB-C ports; the Q5 Sportback S line in particular offers two 60W ports in front, and two 100W ports at the rear.
Driving assistance systems for both the Q5 Advanced and Q5 Sportback S line include adaptive cruise control and park assist with parking system plus, along with the Audi Drive Select drive mode selection.
For exterior colours, the Audi Q5 Advanced in Malaysia is offered in Grenadine Red, Tambora Grey, Navarra Blue, Mythos Black and Glacier White, while the Audi Q5 Sportback S line in Malaysia is offered in District Green, Grenadine Red, Daytona Grey pearl effect, Mythos Black and Glacier White.
