• The 2026 Nissan Pathfinder has been spied undergoing testing in the United States.
  • Prototypes echo the current crossover, but have a more curvaceous front bumper.
  • The production model could incorporate additional changes, including interior updates.

In March, Nissan announced a facelifted Pathfinder would be joining the redesigned Sentra later this year. Fast forward to today and spy photographers have caught a couple of prototypes undergoing hot weather testing in the United States.

Looking instantly recognizable, the updated model has a new front bumper with soft curves and flowing surfaces. The grille also appears to be flusher and better integrated into the overall front end design. While the headlights look familiar, a previous teaser image suggested there could be new lighting units that extend into the grille.

The rest of the design appears to carryover, but the camouflaged rear bumper could be hiding some minor updates. Nissan could also add new taillights, although that remains to be seen.

Spy photographers didn’t get a look inside, but we wouldn’t be surprised to find a handful of updates to help keep things fresh. Besides infotainment tweaks, some trims could trade analog gauges for a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, which is currently limited to the range-topping Platinum.

The current model has a 3.5-liter V6 engine that develops up to 295 hp (220 kW / 299 PS) and 270 lb-ft (366 Nm) of torque. It will likely carryover, but there’s a chance the model could follow in the footsteps of the Infiniti QX60 and adopt a 2.0-liter VC-Turbo four-cylinder producing 268 hp (200 kW / 272 PS) and 286 lb-ft (387 Nm) of torque.

We can expect to learn more in the coming weeks, but everything appears to suggest we’re looking at a relatively minor update.
