• The 2027 Audi SQ7 has been spied virtually undisguised in Europe.
  • It promises to be larger and more luxurious than its predecessor.
  • The model could offer a plug-in hybrid powertrain, but that remains to be seen.

Spy photographers have snapped the redesigned Audi Q7 and SQ7 on multiple occasions, but now we’re finally getting a revealing look at the upcoming model. As you can see, the latest prototype ditches camouflage for a black wrap that leaves little to the imagination.

Looking larger and more aggressive than its predecessor, the 2027 SQ7 features a wide honeycomb mesh grille that is flanked by split lighting units. Pixelated LED daytime running lights reside up top, while there are mid-mounted headlights that are paired with ‘fake’ intakes. The honeycomb theme continues below on the sporty front bumper, which has three intakes as well as a centrally located sensor pod.

Moving down the sides, we can see more expressive bodywork with soft curves and angular creases. They’re joined by a larger greenhouse and a more prominent D-pillar. Other notable highlights include massive 22-inch wheels and Ford Mustang Mach-E style door pulls. The crossover also appears longer than the current model, which measures 199.6 inches (5,070 mm).

The rear end is fairly plain, but it’s home to an angular liftgate and boomerang-style taillights. They’re joined by a layered bumper and a four-tailpipe exhaust system.

Spy photographers haven’t gotten a good look inside, but previous pictures have suggested the model will follow in the footsteps of newer vehicles such as the A6 and Q6 e-trons. This suggests we can expect an 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14.5-inch infotainment system, and an available 10.9-inch front passenger display.

Powertrain details remain elusive, but the current SQ7 has a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 developing 500 hp (373 kW / 507 PS) and 568 lb-ft (769 Nm) of torque. It enables the model to accelerate from 0-60 mph (96 km/h) in four seconds flat and hit a limited top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).
